# Friday Fun in Math Centers!

Tell your partner a story problem and have him or her answer it.

Weighing with pennies and recording the answers.

Hammering nails was so popular last week, we slid it into a center this week! Hammering is great for hand-eye coordination, small motor, and large motor!

Looks like a little sorting is happening here too!

Time to double check that pattern boys! 🙂

I wonder how many pennies equal that Barrel of Monkeys?

Strong girls!

Teamwork!

# Happenings in K/1

During math centers we dropped puffballs into egg cartons and made up math problems.

I got out the chalk this week and the chalkboards have been a big highlight! The kids have been drawing pictures…some of the favorites have been Olaf, MSU patterns, U of M patterns, crosses, Jesus, and thunder clouds with lightning. We also practiced spelling words on the chalkboards.

Practicing adding and subtracting with the dinosaur game.

I reinforced patterning by having them lace beads onto a string. This also helps strengthen small motor skills.

The “new” farm animal game reinforced categorization as well as adding on 1! Both skills we have been working on!

These guys wanted to see how many people they could get on the steps…I think 4 is enough! Silly kids!

“Take a picture of my lightning!”

# What a Fun Week!

Our school had a special visitor this week!

He let us try on his gear.

It was very heavy!

Checking out the helmet!

Checking for kids

Thank you for the presentation Fireman Wade!

“What number do you call for emergencies?”

The whole school participated in the presentation.

The kindergarten completed the rhyming puzzle.

These guys worked together to put together the safari puzzle.
